Sisk and Corus working together to offer speed, quality and reliability via modular route
John Sisk & Son Ltd, one of the largest construction groups in the UK and Ireland, and Corus Living Solutions, the North Wales based modular manufacturing division of Corus, have announced the intention to establish ‘Sisk+Corus Modular Construction’ (Sisk+Corus), an alliance that aims to provide modular accommodation solutions to the hotel and student accommodation sectors.
Undertaking detailed market research, Sisk and Corus analysed the shortcomings of the existing modular accommodation to develop a turnkey solution that fully solves past concerns. By blending Sisk’s in-depth hotel market knowledge and Corus’ automotive-style production efficiencies, Sisk+Corus will be able to offer a modular approach that not only meets, but exceeds customer expectations.
Advantages of the Sisk+Corus offer will include:
- Simple contract for turnkey delivery
- Outstanding quality and consistency
- Significantly reduced on site time for earlier revenues
- Full design capability from industry experts
- Fully furnished rooms eliminate fit-out and snagging
- Supply chain confidence from UK sourcing
- Fewer site visits and much reduced wastage for better sustainability
Richard Jones, General Manager, Corus Living Solutions comments: “Despite the current economic climate, many key players in the hotel sector are investing in continued growth and expansion. Optimising modular construction for the lowest project cost, earlier completion, improved quality and building performance, the Sisk+Corus offering will create significant benefits that will be realised by everyone ranging from investors, development directors, hotel operators and, ultimately, the end-consumer.”
Already proven via a six year contract with Aspire Defence for 8,370 room modules at the Army garrisons across Aldershot on the Salisbury Plain, Corus manufacturing capacity is flexible – being able to produce at a rate up to one unit every 75 minutes, yet still able to offer the client call-off facilities from the North Wales factory to match the day to day project needs.
Sisk’s own credentials are also impressive, demonstrating unequalled hotel build and refurbishment experience totaling over 5,000 rooms in recent years from budget through to full service luxury hotels.
Robin Herron, Pre-construction Director, Sisk continues: “CLS and Sisk are strong, stable trading companies with reputations founded on proven delivery and quality standards. Sisk+Corus aims to be greater than the sum of its parts and will be uniquely placed to identify when the modular route is the right choice for a project.
Our combined expertise means we can bring added value to our clients. Design and cost appraisals at pre-planning stage, plus a complete ‘in house’ design and build service will maximise efficiency and ensure successful and timely delivery to guaranteed standards.”
Operators attending the World Budget & Economy Hotels Congress at One Whitehall Place, London on June 16th – 18th can find out all about the first true end-to-end solution that ticks all the boxes. Richard Jones and Robin Herron will be presenting a keynote address that explains how the Sisk+Corus alliance will help a variety of hotel stakeholders meet their business objectives.
