The Sustainability Story
Offsite manufacturing brings numerous benefits to your sustainability agenda – especially when it’s Sisk+Corus doing it, because the Corus Living Solutions factory is committed to improving sustainability.
We take a strong stance on sustainability in the way we source our materials, manufacture and build our modules. There are several significant advantages of modular construction when compared to traditional on site construction:
- Cold rolled steel frame modular construction techniques exceed the current green changes required by the government plan
- Steel frame modular construction enables structural efficiency and ease of recycling
- Our supply chain promotes sustainable products
- Just in time material supply for maximum efficiency of production and less energy waste
- Minimal waste on site and in the factory – Sisk+Corus is committed to reducing its waste by 20% this year
- Fewer vehicular deliveries on-site. Even offsetting deliveries to the Corus factory, there is a massive nett reduction in lorry movements. Fewer emissions, reduced pollution and lower consumption of fossil fuels.
- Less than 1% waste to landfill, through creative use of materials and extensive recycling
- Energy efficient buildings reduce CO2 emissions over the life of the buildings
